SummaryChloroplastic enzyme responsible for the synthesis of 16:3 and 18:3 fatty acids from galactolipids, sulpholipids and phosphatidylglycerol. Uses ferredoxin as electron donor. Gene expression is induced by wounding in shoot and root. The wound-response in shoot is independent of jasmonic acid mediated pathway whereas the root response is mediated by jasmonic acid.
