CautionIn contrast to its mouse or canine ortholog, it does not mediate the formation of Forssman glycolipid (also called Forssman antigen; FG), which does not exist in human. It is unknown whether it has no enzyme activity at all or has some distinct substrate specificity compared to the canine and mouse protein.
