Preferentially glycosylates proteins, can synthesize galactose- alpha(1,3)-galactose on glycoproteins but cannot synthesize the glycolipid called isoglobotrihexosylceramide or isogloboside 3 (iGb3). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:12626403}.
