Lipid Structure Viewer Help

By default, we display chemical structures using Graphics Interchange Format (gif). These lipid structures can be downloaded by right-clicking the static (gif) image. For users who may wish to manipulate the structure in various ways, we offer the following tools.

MarvinView Applet

The MarvinView Applet is a product of ChemAxon. For information on how to utilize MarvinView's features, please see the Marvin User's Guide. For information on which browsers are supported for various operating systems, please see Web browsers for Marvin Applets.

(Note: When trying to view structures using Marvin, you may be prompted by a security warning asking you to trust a signed applet distributed by "ChemAxon Kft". You must click "Yes" in order to load the required applet.)

GGA Ketcher

The GGA Ketcher is a product of GGA Software. It is written purely in Javascript and doesn't require any client side Java installtion. For information on how to utilize Kecher's features, please see Ketcher's product information page.

JmolApplet

JmolApplet is an open source Java applet.

ChemDraw

ChemDraw is the industry standard for drawing chemical structures. The free ChemDraw ActiveX/Plugin Viewer allows users to view and manipulate LIPID MAPS structures using ChemDraw. To perform structure and sub-structure searches, the Pro version is required. To download and install either the Pro of free version of ChemDraw, please visit CambridgeSoft. To edit a LMSD lipid structure using ChemDraw, first download the MDLMOL file, then open ChemDraw Pro, specifying "MDL Molfile" as the filetype.
